Once
I was the Sound Designer, Audio Mixer, and Production Assistant for Baylor Theatre's production of Once in the spring of 2023. With a show full of over 40 instruments, it allowed be to combine many of my theatre skills into one production. During rehearsals I was responsible for blocking and instrument tracking then once mics were introduced, I was able to switch over from the stage management team to my mixing position.

This show was my first time using Stage Write to record all the blocking.

Each chart corresponded to lines from the script so you could easily see when each movement and change was happening.

With so many instruments and most cast members playing at least 3, instrument tracking became important. Each instrument was given a number that was put on their instrument. This helped ASMs place instruments in the correct places and so things didn't get mixed up during rehearsal and helped me as the mixer know what instruments were being used when.
Once tech started, a instrument check out form was used when actors wanted to bring their instruments home to practice and when they brought it back to ensure all instruments were back in their places before the show.

Due to the theatre's unique shape, I mixed the show from the back of the house on my ipad with the X32 app.

Being the show's PA made my job as audio mixer 100 times easier because I already knew the show so well by the time mics were added.

Mixing from the back of the house allowed me to get a better feel for what the audience was hearing and I could do everything I needed to do right from my ipad.
